GeniuS 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Hello GM team. The server has been having _MASSIVE_ lag spikes. Usually around time of this post or few hours later. Spikes causes constant connection losses for 15-45minutes, making game totally unplayable. I bet I am not the only one wanting to know what is going on? GeniuS 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 The interruption log states: "An attack in NYC knocked out Internap and caused high packet" Something can be done or we will just have to live with it? Problem has persisted for days, why there wasn't any information before?

Problem has persisted for days, why there wasn't any information before? previous days also had this same log in the interruption logs. We didn't report them to you guys cuz it only took like 5 minutes and it was over. We did however file a ticket with the hosting company. What can be done? nothing from our side, we filed a ticket and depend on the hosting company now to answer or even resolve the incoming DDoS attacks.

At least the influence of attacks lasted longer than 5 minutes. Keeping community in the dark will just make people think 'it sucks' and log off. drkz 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Maybe you should consider changing host. This is what Internap is supposed to be offering: Anti-DDos Features 24/7 DDoS experts and forensics support on targeted attacks 24/7 Network Operations Center support DDoS mitigation and protection from Layer-3 to Layer-7 attacks; 40,000,000 packet-per-second rate on Layer-3 Local DDoS-free data distribution and distributed mitigation capacity High-performance route aggregation Spam and virus filtering Mapping/Scanning prevention and application protection For the last 30 minutes logging in was almost impossible, after getting logged out immediately, with lag spikes from 4 to 700ms for me. Apparently they dont seem to give you what they claim to offer. PS White[GM] Ik zit op Telenet, wat mij normaal 80~200ms max geeft. Ik denk dat de host een serieus probleem heeft en dat een server als deze dit niet kan gebruiken. Edited January 3, 2014 by drkz

Ik denk dat de host een serieus probleem heeft en dat een server als deze dit niet kan gebruiken. We're currently renting from a distributor of internap servers... the NY datacenter (where we are located) is very often under attack (in the past month an attack every week)... and mainly they report the issue is with internap, not with them... Some official messages: Jan 3: We're suddenly (as of 2:40pm EST) seeing heavy packet loss in NYC, but no visible attack at this facility. This could indicate a problem with one of Internap's upstream providers. We have contacted them about this and they are looking into it with us. Update @ 3:27pm EST: We are still investigating with Internap. So far it looks like some sort of attack was involved, but that it was not directly against a customer of ours. It may have been against Internap infrastructure, instead. We will continue to post updates on this as we have them. Update @ 3:58pm EST: We still see bursts of packet loss at this location that suggest continued on-and-off problems for Internap there. Dec 29: InterNAP is having serious issues in NYC right now (9:33pm EST). We are escalating with them to try to understand what's going on (again), but the problem is within their network. ----- So as you can read, internap here, internap there, internap is troubles everywhere. KeNZo 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 I vote for host to change to Dallas, because lagless has its proxy server in Dallas as well which is nearby and we will get better ping. So anyone in the world can just connect to lagless and set server to Dallas proxy server and have good ping. Currently i connect to chicago and its kind of far away which creates a slight delay still. When server started, i had 200-300 ping with Dallas server, after host change, 300-600 ping. ~WhiteFang 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 Service messages is saying:"Internap is having problems with some of its upstream providers today in NYC that are leading to packet loss and/or high latencies to certain destinations. They are investigating these and trying to resolve them. These problems are not due to a DDoS against us or Internap." Nothing more I can do than pass on the message... We're looking into moving again, but finding a stable host with the same specs for the same price is really hard. A dedicated machine with 32 GB of ram is expensive... Also, for laggless, try using a new york proxy, as our server is in new york.
KeNZo 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 Yea but there is no New York host for lagless, nearest is in Chicago sadly.Dallas would be an excellent idea for hosting since the ping to Dallas server is much better as well.
