Fps Issue

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I recently bought another desktop PC, and have serious FPS issues with this game now.

I've tried many things, yet none so far really worked.

My current configuration:

AMD E1-1200 APU 1,4Ghz

8 GB RAM

Radeon HD 7310 Graphics

Windows 8 64bit

DirectX 11

Up to date Catalyst drivers

It's not the best i know, but it should easily play this game with no problems.

Things I've tried so far:

Turning off all hardware acceleration

Installing DirectX SDK and disabling all hardware acceleration with control panel

Running a Virtualbox with Win XP and Directx 9, with all acceleration off

Using Direct3DOverrider

Using Rivatuner

Alt-tabbing in Virtualbox and setting process to High

Alt-tabbing in Win8 works, but game crashes, so can't alter process.

With everything running on Windows 8, accel off, i get like 40-50 fps average, with drops to 15-20 with alot of animation on screen.

In the Virtualbox, i get 60-70 average, and it seems to peak to 100 when i idle in a slime pit. When i go out of it, it stables again around 60-70.

Still the fps in Virtualbox is too low to be playable. And it seems VB has a resolution problem.

Are there no other ways around this to at least get stable fps at 100?

Should i downgrade my directx (if possible) on win8 to version 9?

This is a game based on Directdraw, so it should be possible to get reasonable fps. Please help.

Thanks in advance

Try look into the next things:

- Monitor refresh rate should be 60 Hz (some monitors use 30Hz interlaced instead)

- Check if you're using Dual-Monitor, turning off/unplugging the second monitor increases FPS.

Refresh rate set at 60hz, and only running one monitor on this configuration..

seems like your CPU might be bottlenecking your GPU performance.. 1.4ghz x2?

does it run other games well?
