Krede 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 After this abbadon episode i got curious about section 9 of the server rules wich says: No scamming, stealing accounts, passwords, items or anything game or forum related from ANY player or GameMaster is allowed. GameMasters will NEVER ask for your password. We advise you to refrain from sharing accounts as we do NOT replace ANY lost, stolen or scammed items! How do you define these things? When is it illegal and when is it the players own responsebility? Actually i didn't know wether to put this topic in Question or Suggestion section because i think it might be a good idea to explain it in the server rules :)
~elguason 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 You steal drops, fine, what it is on the ground doesnt belng to anyone. You steal items from another account, ban. You steal items from a friend wich you share acc with, your responsability. Probably a ban to the thieft and you will not get your items back. You hack an acc, ban. You give a pw to another player, your responsability... you will not get your items back but your friend could be banned.
Vampyr 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 I was always under the impression that stealing drops on ground from enemy town is fine. However stealing drops on the ground from your own town was not allowed.
~Jaapy 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 If you, or a monster, drops an item to the ground it effectively becomes no one's property. Unless, of course, when your account is hacked and the hacker drops your stuff to the ground - this will be repaired by us. So when you are killing a monster, and it drops an item to the ground - that does not automatically make it YOUR property YET. You need to pick it up first. That's why dropstealing technically doesn't exist. I can understand that it's lame, though, especially if something good drops or in certain places. But it's always these "ifs this and ifs that" that are troublesome. In general, dropstealing is not a problem. With stealing items, we mean the case where your account is hacked beyond your control. Let's try to define a more clear rule.
