Vampyr 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2009 Build it yourself. Make sure it has a good CPU, CPU is what effects HB.
timma 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2009 Self built is the best bang for the buck, if you dont know how to build a cpu or someone who does its not hard to do but a Sony Vio isnt a bad alternative. things to get for helbreath Windows XP (is a must do not get vista) A good processor, pretty much any of the duel cores will do (do not get the lattest and greatest they are way over priced and you will never tell the diff.) Finally a good video card is always nice ( im partial to SLI technology ) and you can get a Asus board and 2) 6 series cards really cheap and w/ that setup you can run WoW full graphics w/ no problems or anything else. For HB you will want to disable the 3d renderings ect... but dont disable the cards (that will make IE run like poop) Oh yeah almost forgot dont cheap out on the power supply get the best one you can find and make sure it has the right adapter plug for your motherboard (if your building your own pc) duel video cards want lots of power. :P
Vampyr 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2009 Brev, you live in Melbourne yeah? Go see either Computer Parts Land in Notting Hill (Just off Ferntree Gully Road) or one of the MSY Technologies, theres in in Caulfield and theres one in Mulgrave and a couple in other places. I made my computer buying the parts from those two places for just over 700 bucks and it is pretty dam good. Im pretty sure MSY will build computers for you, CPL might to. Raquzz 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2009 700 bucks not bad, Next pc im gonna build costs about 2000 usd without monitor.
Vampyr 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2009 Yeah that was without monitor obviously. I was just looking at one of the websites I named before, they sell systems, pretty decent ones for around the 1000 dollar mark. 4 gig ram, 800 gig HDD, 1gb 9600GT Vid Card, Intel Core2Quad and you can buy Windows XP for an extra 160 bucks. Thats about 1000. When I see you in game ill tell you more (I think your banned from forum :) )
Saitam 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2009 in a old game like hb video cards doenst work, rams do a little, for the best fps u need CORE!! with 4 cores u get 1000 fps. i got an athlon 4600+ 2gb ram 9600 gt 512 and my fps are 180 + - 200 some times and with angel maybe 300 in a few maps
timma 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2009 newegg.com one of the best online wholesellers for computer parts. i forgot the other one. i build my pc w/ monitor for 650$ takes some time to watch for things to go on sale, and always buy refurbished monitors the price is like 1/2. timma 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 then get a sony vaio, most bang for the buck, but shop around. look for a duel core processor, and something w/ good memory. MOST IMPORTANT TO RUN HB GET WINDOWS XP. ;)
Leigon 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 i got windows xp on my comp and still worst speed ever :P some other questions.. 1.If i left battery charger in laptop a lot of the time, does it effect in anyway? 2.i heard holding the power off button on the hardware kills the CPU.tru? i just need how to get a comp that is a average for hb :)
Vampyr 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 Visit those stores i mentioned Brevlin... I would actually visit Computer Parts Land off Ferntree Gully Road because MSY are hopeless, noone in there can speak a word of english. CPL are actually helpful. Tell them you have X amount to spend. For a grand you would pick up a computer that would PWN Helbreath and be capable to run 90% of games. I would offer to come meet you and take you myself but I think you live in Dandenong, I would get stabbed there.
Asshat 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 www.tigerdirect.com you can get bundles which are fairly cheap... i got a free core 2 quad 2.66 gh processor for free i paid about 400$ for the rest of my machine and i get 1000+fps with angels that website is the best for low prices
