LCDs, unlike CRTs, dont use phosphors.. so they are immune to the burn in effect... They can, however, suffer from a similar problem called image persistence where the crystals develop a "location memory" caused by the static display of some image for a long time... Ive seen this effect and it doesnt look like the problem you are having.... The problem u have sounds more like you are having problems with your Video Card (i cooked one memory of a 6600gt a while ago and displayed someting like those stripes :P ),... -I would check if the VGA is correctly plugged to the PSU first. And make sure your PSU can deliver enough juice too... -Try removing the VGA and then put it back, bad contact with the motherboard could be the thing... -and maybe, try getting some newer drivers...
