Stalkers Den

Needs to be like 15 more ettins, and 20 more mgs down there. It would be really fun if it had lots of ettins and mgs

Stalker's Den in currently in a semi-finished state. The map is there and available to play in with its mechanics. Yet some machanics are currently bugged related to World Quests.

Once those mechanics are fixed a world quest can be played there releasing a bunch of Stalkers to kill with the Lurker of the Den (stalker boss) spawning in the end of the world quest.

 

A similar map (identical mechanics) will be opened in the hills of Middleland near Elvine's Left-ML entrance. Also this map is already available to access, but the World Quest mechanics are bugged there as well.

This map will feature a bunch of ettins and an ettin boss in the end of the World Quest completion.

 

If you like Mountain Giants, visit DV or SW every 2 hours at the hour (2:00, 4:00, 6:00, etc...) to participate in the world quest there. Also here you'll get a mountain giant boss and additional mountain giants if more people participate.

 

As with all World Quests, the boss mobs have a +10% drop rate in both primary and secondary drops. Some of the bosses even have added drops (such as fire pro, efreet, blood items, bsw, mfs and HF for Sebastian in D2 and Merien items (plate, shield & neck) for the Lurker of the Den in Stalker's Den)

Thanks m8, that sounds very fun. I love the ettin boss thing, please let me know when its done.

 

Also can you provide more info about this SW DV quest, Id love to try it.

Once we fix stalkers den we'll also have the ettin camp fixed. This'll be announced in an update post probably.

 

Regarding DV/SW world quest:

Every 2 hours at 00 (2:00, 4:00, 6:00, etc...) an NPC spawns near the entrance of the map.

Your task is to escort the NPC through the map and ensure it doesn't die.

If the NPC dies before reaching its destination, you fail the quest and can no longer complete it (until it respawns the next time).

Once the NPC reaches its destination you'll be rewarded with Gold, Experience AND Contribution Points along with a globalized reward (= world reward) which is the spawning of the boss mob.

If more people join in, you get additional monsters spawned which are related to the world boss. (Mountain Giants in case of DV/SW)

 

World Quests are assigned automatically upon arrival when the NPC is near you (20x20 area) and are also automatically cancelled (to avoid clutter in your quest list).

 

Currently there are also 2 other World Quests which also reward their own individual boss mob.

One takes place in ToH 1 (near entrance) every 2 hours at 15 past the hour (2:15, 4:15, 6:15, etc...).

The second one is in D2 (near ares ent, on ares side of the map) every 2 hours at 30 past the hour (2:30, 4:30, 6:30, etc...)

 

As mentioned in the previous post we'll see the Stalkers Den fixed soon and the Ettin Camp added.

Stalkers Den will take the 2 hour slot at 45 past the hour (2:45, 4:45, 6:45, etc...) where the ettin boss will take the place every 2 hours 15 mins past the hour on the odd hour (1:15, 3:15, 5:15, etc...)

 

In a later stage we'll also see a boss appear in Icebound (Frost Boss) and a cyclops boss in D2 at elvine's side.

 

We will also see for the additiona of announcers so these world quests are announced in global to make them more familiar with the public.

This hasn't been completed yet at World Quests are built upon brand new mechanics and have now proven to be properly working in a decent fashion (except the ones that bugged out in Stalkers Den xD). So the time has come where announcers are relevant since the content has been stablized and optimized for usage.

White if i use drop booster will it stack with world quest higher %?

 

Yes, it'll stack. The following drop boosts stack additive:

- Party Drop Boost (+9%)

- ML Drop Boost (only applies in ML map, +9%)

- Heldenian Drop Boost (only applies to heldenian winning nation, +9%)

- Drop Booster (+10%)

- World Quest Boss Mob Drop Boost (only applies to World Quest bosses, +10%)

 

This allows a total drop boost of +47% !

So how should the Stalker's Den work? Spent hours hunting there and didn't see any "boss mobs". Skeletons, Giant-frogs, Cycs, Hellhound, Werewolf, Ogre, Mountain-Giant and Ettins, but no mighty Lurker of the Den!

Some machanics are currently bugged related to World Quests.

 

@T-Pain: yes, the majority of this is active. Yet as quoted above, partially bugged. At the time of writing Stalker's Den is available as a map, the changing of the map layout is active (happens every 2 hours, anyone inside is teleported back to the entrance as it occurs).

 

@GeniuS: In effect both Stalker's Den and Ettin Camp work as the 3 other world quests. Yet those in Stalker's Den and Ettin Camp are currently bugged. The initial NPC you're supposed to protect doesn't spawn. Thus the world quest will never be initiated and in effect the boss mob (Luker) won't spawn (as the spawning is a reward from the world quest, which doesn't trigger as the npc doesn't spawn due to a minor bug).

 

The ETA for this to be fixed is at the end of August as I'm currently on holidays and development is on-hold.

Okay! What about minimaps? Will these maps get minimaps?

 

The maps are fairly small actually right now. With a size as big as ML mines (168x168 coords big). The map changes every 2h making it a challenge each time. That's the fun part about it.

I do plan on having some sort of mini-map for future stuff related to this map generation technique.

 

I'm already planning to make partially randomized maps where only a small section of the map is randomized with the rest of it being static (never changing).
